Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts Ababu Namwamba, on Friday, March 17, attended the funeral mass for his former wife, Priscah Mwaroh.
Ababu was part of a gathering at the Consolata Shrine, Westlands, that remembered the late Mwaroh as a forthright person who loved her family.
Sports Principal Secretary, Jonathan Mueke, who also attended the service, noted that Priscah was a lady who cherished and loved everyone in her life.
"Priscah had a profound impact in the lives of many. She carved her name on many hearts and her powerful legacy is evident from the kind words shared about her," Mueke noted.
The Principal Secretary urged Kenyans of goodwill to pray for the Sports Cabinet Secretary to heal emotionally.
"We lift Waziri Ababu Namwamba and their wonderful children in prayer. May God lighten the sorrow and continue to be a source of comfort and strength.
"Ababu Namwamba, you remain in my thoughts as you travel to Budalangi to escort Priscah to her final resting place," Mueke noted.
In the eulogy read by a family friend, Mwaroh was mourned as a woman who cherished honesty and faithfulness.
Her family members remembered her as a special lady whose main priorities were people-centred and solution-oriented.
The deceased was found dead inside her house in Nairobi on Wednesday, March 8, barely a day after celebrating her birthday.
Ababu and his former wife hail from Busia County, where they first met and fell in love as young budding souls.
The two tied the knot in 2015 and were married for three years, during which they were blessed with three children before divorcing in 2018.
Mwaroh graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resources) from the University of Nairobi.
