First Lady Rachel Ruto on Sunday, March 19, rallied the youths behind President William Ruto to enable him effectively deliver his mandate to Kenyans.

Speaking during the commissioning of the Good News Mission Refurbished Hall in Kasarani, Mama Rachel asked the youth to step up and be more proactive in the government.

"As young people, let us continue to support the work the Lord has given the President to do. He may have been elected but he can not do it alone.

"The work is immense and that is why we need your hands, the young people, so that Kenya can move forward," she stated.

The First Lady argued that the best way to ensure that the Kenya Kwanza government delivers was by giving their own contribution in terms of their skill set.

"Let us continue embracing work and take advantage of the upcoming university and some of the skills that we need," the First Lady remarked.

She noted that she was impressed by one of the ladies at the church's studio who without formal university training, handled the news segment.

"Even sometimes when we do not have the opportunity to get there, we can start somewhere because each one of us has a God-given talent," she reiterated.

Nonetheless, she made it clear that attending tertiary education in the university or in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions was very important.

Mama Rachel pledged support to the Good News Mission stating that the Office of the First Lady would collaborate with the institution to foster a positive mindset among young people.

The institution has been operating in Kenya since 1994 and has been inspiring and uplifting youth through a combination of evangelism, skill development, and mindset training.

Ruto ran for presidency pitting himself as a leader who would keep the interests of youth (hustlers) a priority and vowed to tackle major issues facing them such as unemployment.

However, based on recent government appointments, a number of youths felt shortchanged.
