The nominee for the chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Retired Bishop David Adang Oginde on Wednesday, April 5, declared his net worth.

Appearing before Members of Parliament for vetting, Dr Oginde stated that he was worth Ksh170 million.

The Former CITAM presiding bishop told members of the National Assembly's Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) that he accumulated Ksh170 million in over four decades of his service in various capacities.

"I have not asked any accountant to help us with the valuation of the property" Oginde revealed before JLAC.

The former Bishop of Christ is The Answer Ministries (CITAM) explained to the Legislators that his wealth is attached to a number of property.

In particular, Dr Oginde mentioned pieces of land in Nairobi, among other property that he owns jointly with his wife.

"It comprises of houses that we are letting out, our own house where we live, some land that we have here and there and other investments in other insurances on so on," Oginde told MPs.

Asked why he applied for the job that is seemingly difficult, especially, for servants of God like him, Oginde noted that he had prayed for guidance.

"When this position came up, many people who knew what I have came to me and asked me to apply, I was not very enthusiastic about it, but after praying about it I thought why not," he stated.

Oginda stated that he will serve diligently without any fear and favour just as he had done previously as a Bishop.

He promised Kenyans that he will be held accountable by both members of the public and the leadership of the country.

President William Ruto nominated Oginde on March 11, 2023, following recommendations by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Oginde is seeking to replace Retired ACK Archbishop Eliud Wabukala who retired in December 2022 after serving a non-renewable six years term.

Prior to his nomination by President Ruto, the former Bishop of CITAM also served as founder and the Chief Executive Officer of  Catalead Associates, a leadership development and training organisation.

Oginde also served as Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University between April 2011 to May 2021.

He holds a Doctor of Architecture (Ph. D.) among other design qualifications.
