A bus full of passengers was on Thursday, April 13, involved in an accident along the busy Kiambu Road.
The Public Service Vehicle (PSV) bus slid out of the road metres past the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Headquarters, along the busy road.

The bus which was reportedly speeding, was headed to the Nairobi Central Business District before hitting the steep walls of Kiambu Road and falling by its side.
Some passengers were hurriedly pulled out of the vehicle that had landed by the side, while others simply broke their way out of the wreckage.

It was not immediately clear if there were fatalities, but emergency medical responders were called to the scene to assist the injured.
Among the people who responded to the scene included officers from the DCI, who also took part in the rescue exercise.
The early-morning accident caused a traffic snarl-up on both sides of the road as witnesses stopped to get a glimpse of the scene.
Traffic police officers had a hard time controlling the motorists along the narrow road that serves hundreds of vehicles in a single day.
Kiambu Road connects Central Kenya to Nairobi City through a series of service lanes that create entry points and exits to major highways.
Traffic police officers advised motorists plying the road to consider using alternative routes to and from Kiambu town.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on January 18, 2023, stated that a high number of Kenyans die in road accidents between Friday and Sunday.
NTSA also revealed that Sunday was the deadliest day in 2022 with 896 deaths which was an increase from 816 in 2021.
According to the agency, 3,358 people died on Kenyan roads between January 1 and September 13, 2022, and warned road users to exercise caution.
