"Successful candidates will be required to report for the NYS paramilitary training Course at NYS Paramilitary Academy, Gilgil or NYSTTI, Naivasha on dates and times specified in the respective issued calling letters," the statement read in part.

President William Ruto, on Friday, March 3, announced that the NYS will recruit 20,000 Kenyans, up from its current 10,000 recruits.

NYS will thus enrol 40,000 recruits annually into the service in its double intake.

"Our definition and understanding of development must have the active contribution of an overwhelming majority of youth as its foundational principle, and the inspiring profile of this cohort attests to this. For this reason, we want to enhance the annual intake from 10,000 every intake to 20,000 every intake," the Head of State directed, while speaking in Nakuru County during the 86th NYS pass-out parade.
