"I thank God for the opportunity of being the new Managing Director. It is a role that focuses on the brand, building its reputation, and increasing the company's revenue. My key objective will be to stamp our authority as one of the leading digital media platforms in the country,” she stated.

“In terms of my own personal plans for the role, I want to continue increasing partnerships for the team, diversifying content, and enhancing team growth in general,” she added.

Recalling her journey in the media industry, Majale affirmed that her career was linked to digital journalism since its onset in 2013.

“I can't state that it’s a series of things (that pushed me to success), I knew I would be at the helm someday, but I did not know it would be this soon.

“From the beginning, I set out to push TUKO.co.ke as part of personal development and not for a position,” she reiterated.

The journalist also highlighted the opportunities in digital journalism and pointed out that the most agile companies would survive the current technological disruption.

“The media industry is diverse and will continue changing. So one thing I have learnt is to be agile and adaptable. You have to keep learning, relearning, and be ready for change,” she highlighted.

The former MD Ramenya exuded confidence in Majale's new role and stated: "I loved everything at Tuko.co.ke and I'm confident in Julia taking over and I'm sure she will take the company to the next level."

Majale's experience in the digital industry spans over eight years across different sectors in the digital space.

Her career in the media industry began in May 2013 as an intern at Standard Group for five months. A year later, she rejoined the station to work as an Online Sub-Editor and a Social Media Editor.
