ICT Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dennis Itumbi, on Saturday, April 29, pledged to assist a bereaved family after their kin was found dead in Siaya County.
Itumbi responded to a plea made by the deceased friend. Ludy Harriet, a former Kenyatta University student, was reportedly murdered. Police, however, were yet to issue a report to authenticate the controversies surrounding her death.
"Hello, Dennis Itumbi, the lady on your left, who happens to have been a close friend of ours, has been brutally murdered at her rural home in Siaya.
"Please assist us through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate her murder case," the friends appealed.
"Sorry for your loss. Please ask Derrick to send her details my way. God comfort her family," the CAS wrote.
Itumbi was pictured with the young mother and her friends at a past drama event.
According to friends, the lady was reported missing several days before her lifeless body was found dumped at a river bank. It was unclear when the lady went missing and the motives of the killers.
"No human being deserves to face what Ludy Harriet went through. Unknown assailants killed her, yet no investigations have commenced," a friend claimed.
Harriet, who was reportedly pursuing Environmental Science at KU, left behind a young boy.
Her friends and family strived to reach the relevant authorities, including former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, seeking their intervention.
"Interior CS, a young soul was lost, killed, and dumped in a river bank early this week nothing is being done about it, yet we have got rules and laws that are guiding us as a nation," another posed.
Friends and former classmates eulogised the late as a loving and humble mother.
"Her name is Harriet Ludy, she was a really good thespian and even assisted in directing choral verses in KU. She was pursuing environmental science. A loving mother and a great friend," a post by a friend, King Nzulu, read.
"DCI, this week, we lost a young soul, and the world is silent about it. She was killed and dumped on a river bank. Very absurd. no investigations are ongoing, and no statements made. Ludy Harriet has left behind a one-year-old son," activist, Joshua Anyika, added.
