Kenya Power, on Tuesday, June 13, announced a mass auction of vehicles through Toplink Auctioneers.
In a statement, the company noted that the auction shall be held on Tuesday, June 27, and Wednesday, June 28, at the Kenya Power Transport Depot Ruaraka yard near KCA University off Thika Road at 10 am.
Some of the vehicles on auction include Isuzu Trucks & Pick Ups, Mitsubishi Fuso Lorries/Trucks, Grove Cranes & Compressors. Additionally, there are Toyota Land Cruisers, Toyota Pick Ups & D/Cabs, as well as Terios SUVs & Nissan Tiidas available for auction.
Kenya Power also listed several motorcycles and other assorted items, including used batteries and spare parts.
Bidding Process
All interested bidders have been invited to view and verify the condition of items for themselves.
Bidders have also been advised to get a detailed catalogue from Toplink Auctioneers at Ksh500, which is non-refundable.
Kenya Power emphasised that all payments shall be in the form of Bankers' Cheques and/or cash, made at KPLC halls where the bidders shall be issued with a receipt.
Those seeking up to three vehicles, a plant, and any assorted item should make a Ksh100,000 refundable deposit. In contrast, those seeking three motorcycles should pay Kenya Power a Ksh10,000 refundable deposit before the auction date.
"No bidding without a bidding number. The deposits shall be limited to purchasing the first three motor vehicles/plant and motorcycles, respectively," read part of the notice.
All successful bidders will be required to deposit 25 per cent of the purchase value at Kenya Power banking halls and clear the balance within seven days from the auction date.
However, failure to complete payments, the deposit shall be forfeited, and the subject item(s) shall be resold to the public.
Furthermore, the winning bidders will be required to collect the sold items within 30 days from the auction date or risk paying Ksh300 per day storage fees.
After the auction, the transfer of ownership shall be conducted within one month.
"Sales shall be subject to reserved market price.
