The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), on Tuesday, June 13, provided a step-by-step process for replacing a phone number on the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) platform.

Responding to a motorist stranded while attempting to log into the platform, NTSA explained the four-step process.

To initiate the process, the individual is advised to present the original national identification card and a copy of the original identification card at the NTSA offices.

Furthermore, the account owner must present him/herself in person at NTSA and, with an original affidavit to complete the process.

Notably, the TIMS platform manages all vehicle registration, inspection, and licensing aspects while offering more services to motorists.

Some of the services offered on the platform include vehicle registration, vehicle inspection, driving license application, renewal, vehicle ownership transfer, and payment of fines and penalties.

All motorists without an account are urged to log into the  NTSA TIMS portal tims.ntsa.go.ke to ease access to the numerous services available.

Additionally, motorists can access the services through the eCitizen government platform offering Kenyans other digital services.

Those who want to change their phone numbers on the government platform should follow the three steps outlined by NTSA.

Write an email to support@ecitizen.go.ke and request a change of phone number, and also attach a copy of their ID and other relevant documents.

To conclude the process, motorists should provide a new phone number that must be registered to the ID provided.

Those seeking to open an eCitizen account should be a Kenyan Citizen or a foreign resident, be above 18 years and must have a national identity card number or a national alien card number.
