Water Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome, on Saturday, June 17, distanced herself from a Ksh120 million Karen house tussle with a first-time member of Parliament from Murang'a County.

In a statement, Wahome insisted that she was not involved in the brawl where an unidentified Cabinet Secretary was accused of forcefully occupying the said house.

The Water CS implored Kenyans on social media to stop linking her to the scandal.

"That story of a house in Karen involving a CS, leave me out. I m not the one. Sorry Kenyans on Twitter. You missed this one," she insisted.

"Look for someone else. I m not the one. I m not looking for a house to live in," she reiterated.

Wahome issued the statement after a section of Kenyans dragged her name into the scandal since she was out of the country for some time. The owner of the house had indicated that the unnamed CS who forcefully occupied the mansion was a female CS who had flown out of the country.

The identity of the CS was yet to be made public by the time of publishing.

Earlier, the Water Cabinet Secretary was on work assignment at the African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW) conference in Egypt on Wednesday, June 14.

"The AMCOW Conference brings together different stakeholders including investors and technocrats in the water sector from across Africa and beyond. I serve as the Vice President representing the East African region," Wahome wrote after the meeting.

Wahome also visited the People's Republic of China, where she benchmarked various dam projects implemented in that Asian country.

Ksh120 million House Scandal

The news of the house tussle went viral after the MP's wife addressed a section of the media on Friday.

She claimed that the unnamed CS took advantage of their absence in the country to move into the house and deploy a heavy contingent of police officers to man it.

Additionally, the landlady revealed that they had turned down a Ksh90 million offer from the unnamed CS.

"The CS showed interest in the house. She even came to my home and gave us an offer of Ksh90 million. We told her the house's price is Ksh120 million.

"Thereafter, I travelled to the US for my daughter's graduation. When I came back on Wednesday, June 14, I told my people to come and clean my house. To my shock, the house was already occupied," she explained.

The MP has threatened to sue the CS and level trespassing charges against her.
