She will receive a monthly airtime allowance of Ksh20,000, along with an annual leave allowance of Ksh50,000 per year.

The CRA chairperson will also receive a car loan of up to Ksh8 million and a mortgage of up to Ksh35 million.

However, she will not be eligible for a sitting allowance for plenary sessions, official residence, committee sitting allowance, and taxable car allowance.

Wanyonyi took over from Jane Kiringai, who retired from the post in February 2023. Her mandate will entail ensuring smooth division of revenue between National and County governments.

Minutes after being sworn in, Chebukati lauded his wife for landing the plum role and encouraged her to uphold the law during her tenure.

"Your dedication and expertise will undoubtedly contribute to the Mandate of the CRA and prosperity for all Kenyans. Keep your fidelity to the Constitution and the Law. Wishing you great success in this important role," he stated.

Wanyonyi holds a master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce. Prior to the appointment, she served as the Head of the Accounting Unit in the Ministry of Lands.
