Embattled Nancy Kigunzu, alias 'Mathe wa Ngara's' case was adjourned on Tuesday, August 22 following a request from her defense team, led by Danstan Omari.

The legal representatives appearing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Law Courts formally petitioned the magistrate for a postponement of the case. They based their request on prior commitments, notably emphasizing their role in representing Pastor Ezekiel in a separate legal matter at a court in Mombasa.

The adjournment was arrived at to allow the defense team to travel to Mombasa for their scheduled engagement.

The judge subsequently determined that the bail ruling for Nancy Kigunzu's case would be conducted virtually on Wednesday, August 23, at 9:30am.

Initially, the defense requested the judge to schedule the ruling in the afternoon, but the magistrate and the prosecution noted they had other matters to attend to.

In response, Danstan Omari's team, leading the defense, proposed a 10:00 am start for the ruling to accommodate the defense's availability. However, a decision had already been reached.

Consequently, Nancy Kigunzu will continue to be held in police custody at Embakasi's Internal Container Depot in Nairobi County, awaiting the bail ruling.

As this happens, Kenyans are waiting to learn Nancy Kigunzu's fate, as her case has captured the attention of Kenyans across the country.

'Mathe wa Ngara' came into the spotlight following accusations of drug trafficking, triggered by the police confiscating Ksh. 13.4 million from her residence in Ngara.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had initiated a search for Nancy, asserting that she was evading authorities.

After the raid, the agency launched a manhunt for Kizungu after she went on the run. However, she was finally arrested on Monday, August 21.

Following the arrest, 'Mathe wa Ngara's' attorney Danstan Omari moved to court on Tuesday, August 21 to have his client released

The lawyer sought clarification on an anticipatory bail he filed for his client, arguing that his client was complying with security agencies and deserved a fair hearing.
