President William Ruto has jetted out of the country to attend the Africa Food Systems Summit in Tanzania.
In a statement by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed on Tuesday, Ruto will be in the company of his colleagues for the 13th summit aimed at discussing matters of food security in the continent.
Sustainability and innovation in the agriculture sector will also take centre stage at the event hosted by President Samia Suluhu.
As per the Summit programme, the event commenced on September 5 and will end on Friday, September 8.
"The Africa Food Systems Forum brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including experts, policymakers, and representatives from various sectors of the food industry," read the Summits programme.
"Networking and Partnerships The forum serves as a unique platform for CEOs to build meaningful connections and partnerships within the food and agriculture sector."
It is still unclear, whether Ruto will be getting back today or after the conclusion of the Summit.
However, Kenyans.co.ke established that Ruto will hold a roundtable discussion alongside Suluhu, President Macky Sall (Senegal) and Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi) from 5 pm.
He will later join other presidents for a gala dinner at State House Tanzania.
At the Summit, Ruto will also be joining other notable Kenyans who have been selected as guest speakers including Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, and Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange.
Ruto's visit to Tanzania comes barely a day after he hosted over 14 presidents at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) for the Africa Climate Summit.
The Africa Climate Summit that commenced on September 4 was also hosted by over 16,000 international delegates including diplomats from the United Nations (UN) and Europe.
