ODM Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian on Friday claimed that goons attacked her during the Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting attended by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
In a statement on her official social media account, the Senator alleged that the goons were sent to attack her by a senior party official holding a key political seat in Nairobi County.
Lemaletian argued that the incident was aimed at intimidating her.
However, she did not divulge whether she got hurt during the incident or reported the matter to the police.
"Today, I was attacked at the ODM PG by goons saying they were sent to beat and strip me naked. I am not in ODM because of him. I will never please him to stay.
"ODM upholds democracy & gender non-discrimination. If anything happens to me, he should be solely held responsible," she claimed.
Kenyans.co.ke also reached out to ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale, who indicated that he did not witness the alleged incident.
However, he advised the Senator to report the matter to the party structures mandated to handle such incidents.
"I did not witness anything. If it happened, that is unfortunate. She should report the matter to the party," he stated.
At the time of publication, the accused politician was yet to respond to the allegations.
Kenyans.co.ke's Attempts to reach out to the said politician over the matter also proved futile.
Raila was holding the party PG with elected leaders of the party and other officials to strategies for the upcoming grassroots elections.
