"This is a worrying trend and the President must come openly and address this troublesome event and why Kenyans are being abducted," Ahmednasir remarked.

Ahmednasir further posed that those found guilty of abducting and torturing Khalif should be convicted.

The lawyer also questioned why innocent Kenyans were being abducted despite the current government's commitment to stop the trend before and after it assumed power.

He argued that mysterious abductions of innocent Kenyans was a trend that needed to be relegated to history since it is mainly associated with rogue  governments.

Khalif was abducted by five unknown people on November 10 in front of his wife.

His family and friends have been in and out of police stations trying to find their missing kin.

When questioned on the matter, the Director of Criminal Investigations Amin Mohamed, revealed that the matter was not captured by CCTV as widely presumed.

The family, however, got reprieve after the High Court directed the service provider to produce car tracking records of the vehicle used to stage the abduction.
