Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has alleged major forces are behind the murder of a Meru-based blogger.

In a post made on Friday, December 29, the former Gatundu Member of Parliament condemned gang profiling in the Mount Kenya region, noting that the stigmatisation is largely affecting the youths.

“The cold-blooded murder of Sniper is in line with the continued profiling and stigmatisation of Mt Kenya youth, branding them as members of Mungiki and other outlawed gangs,” Kuria stated.

Kuria has also blamed fake Mount Kenya Kingpins for the gang profiling happening to youths in the region, terming them as short-term.

“Now tell your fake kingpins to live with the ignominy of their short-termism. I will never do anything for the political expediency of the moment,” he added.

The CS promised to follow up on the ongoing investigations and help bring Snipper’s killer to justice.

“You will not get away with this. I will pursue this matter to the bitter end,” he asserted.

Kuria further noted that low humanitarian standards cause such happenings among Kenyan youths.

“When the threshold of what is legit humanitarian standards fall this low, the outcome is what you see,”

Meru-based blogger Daniel Muthiani, famously known as ‘Sniper’ disappeared on December 2, and his body was discovered two weeks later.

A post morterm done by government pathologist Johansen Oduor on his the late revealed that he died from strangling, with Sniper’s kin asking the relevant authorities to do further investigations.
