KTN News business journalist and anchor Jimmy Mbogoh is leaving the Mombasa Road-based media house.

In an emotional farewell message on Wednesday, the journalist indicated that he was vacating the anchor chair after serving for a period of one year.

"To some personal news now, my time at KTN/KTN News has come to an end after what was a very fulfilling year of storytelling," he stated.

"We have told stories both locally and abroad in a year that has thrown us some serious curveballs, testing my skill endurance and passion for business journalism. I look back with great joy and pride for what we achieved."

"To my colleagues and friends who've witnessed the highs and lows of the year with me asanteni sana (thank you) for your support. To my bosses who gave me a chance, I'm truly grateful for the opportunity," he added.

Mbogoh joined the Standard Group in November 2022 after stints in the digital media space, primarily at Kenyans.co.ke, as well as an anchoring role at K24 TV.

The journalist had earlier revealed that he had stayed nearly three years in the cold before landing the opportunity.

"It's not been easy but I'm grateful to everyone who's held my hand in one way or another," he stated at the time.

"This has been the greatest storm in my life and I'm glad it happened because it has helped me discover myself."

At K24 TV, the scribe served until 2020, when the management received a court order directing it to pay its journalists for breach of contract.

In between, he also managed his own YouTube channel, Business Hour, where he hosts financial experts.

At Kenyans.co.ke, he served as a digital business journalist in 2021.
