Former K24 news anchor, Jimmy Mbogoh, is set to join the Standard Group's KTN News as a news anchor.

Mbogoh will double up as a business reporter at the media house along Mombasa Road.

"Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. A chapter that has taken nearly three years to come (872 days, to be exact).

"It's not been easy but I'm grateful to everyone who's held my hand in one way or another," Mbogoh announced on his social media pages.

The anchor stated that despite staying nearly three years in the cold, he realised and optimised his strengths and was always motivated in life.

"This has been the greatest storm in my life and I'm glad it happened because it has helped me discover myself," he added.

Joining KTN News, he underlined, was an exciting chapter in his life both as a business strategist and media practitioner.

He also encouraged others to be hopeful and determined to overcome all of life's uncertainties.

"I look back with a lot of peace and gratitude for the lesson, but I look forward with a lot of hope and optimism.

"Despite the uncertainty, I know God's will,  will prevail. To you, my friends don't give up on God. See you soon," he expressed.

Mbogoh, however, did not indicate the exact date he will be returning to the screens.

Mbogo left K24 in 2020 when the management received a court order directing it to pay its journalists for breach of contract. The media house had attempted to retrench the practitioners and enforce pay cuts to salvage its dwindling revenues.

K24 was one of the media stations affected by the pandemic outbreak, which led to a decline in advertising revenue and other production models.
