The Ministry of Education is set to release the results of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) tomorrow on Friday, January 9.

According to Ministry of Education officials, Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba will announce the results in Eldoret at 9:30am.

KCSE was concluded on November 21, 2025, after about five weeks of continuous examinations, which commenced on October 21.

A total of 996,000 candidates sat for the examination, which is crucial for students’ transition to higher levels of learning.

Speaking during the Omogusii Cultural Festival at Kenyoro School Groups in North Mugirango, the CS had confirmed that the results will be released within the first two weeks of December.

"The KCSE examination results will be released within the next two weeks. Traditionally, the KCSE examinations are normally announced in January, and we are keeping it to that tradition," the CS said.

Two days ago, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) activated an online portal where parents can access the results.

The portal, however, indicated that the KCSE results can only be accessed once the Ministry of Education makes the results public.

The early activation of the portal is a standard procedure to ensure that everything is set and the system is fully functional and capable of handling the massive traffic once the results are out.

Once the results are out, candidates will be required to enter their index numbers and examination year on the portal to view their provisional results.

In a social media statement on Saturday, January 3, Ogamba dismissed claims that the ministry had already released the examinations, as had been purported by some social media users.

"Treat such fake and misleading news with the contempt it deserves," Ogamba flagged a fake post.
