Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed the Kamwene meetings organised by leaders of the Mt Kenya region within the Azimio coalition, led by NARC Kenya's Martha Karua.

During a media interview held on Tuesday, Kalonzo argued that the forum diverts Azimio's intention and creates individualism, whereby the coalition risks being divided based on tribal lines.

He called the forum 'dead on arrival' and urged his counterparts to stick to the coalition and speak in one voice.

"I don't want to pass judgment on that issue, but have you heard of things like dead on arrival? Because this thing means individualism. It is a terrible political philosophy. I'd advise my friends to leave it, and we stick together in Azimio," he stated while appearing on KTN News

The Kamwene Leaders Forum is a platform where Mt Kenya leaders address various problems affecting the region. Kamwene is a Kikuyu term that means "the owner".

Other than NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua, former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, embattled Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni and Party of National Unity leader Peter Munya are members of Kamwene.

Following Kalonzo's remarks, Karua responded to the Wiper leader, wondering why he was afraid of the group to the point of openly fighting against it.

"What about Kamwene scares my brother Kalonzo that he must drag it in every conversation he has?" Karua posed.

During the interview, Kalonzo also addressed possible cracks within the Azimio coalition following the divergent views over the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.

He disputed the claims and noted that it was normal for party principals to voice different opinions.

"We have a strong opposition. We are differing on issues but are trying to give alternatives to Kenyans on how to run this country. We haven't even started yet. Ruto (President William Ruto has seen nothing yet," he noted.

"The opposition is ready to engage in serious matters like the cost of living. However, the reason the cost of living did not appear in the National Dialogue committee report is because we agreed to disagree," Kalonzo added.
