After the fire broke out, firefighters from the Nairobi County Government were deployed to the scene to contain the fire and prevent further property damage.

However, firefighters experienced challenges accessing the affected area due to its location. Kenyans commenting online attributed this to Nairobi's poor planning.

Additionally, a section of Kenyans raised the alarm following an increase in the increase in fires especially in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).

On January 30, business owners were left counting losses after a fire broke out near City Stadium in Nairobi. The fire which occurred at the Jogoo Road roundabout affected local businesses.

Firefighters from the county worked to put out the fire as some traders tried to salvage their property from being razed.

Later that day, another fire was reported in Kitengela. The fire engulfed a temporary storey building in the CBD leaving one investor counting losses estimated at Ksh20 million.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electric fault which resulted in the fire spreading to nearby shops.

Another tragic fire broke out in Embakasi after an explosion at an illegal gas plant. The explosion resulted in seven deaths with over 300 sustaining severe injuries.
