A man has been captured on footage showing him roughing and beating up his female employee for several minutes inside a shop in the Kangemi area, Nairobi.
In the un-dated CCTV footage making rounds on social media on Friday, February 23, the man can be seen slapping the woman several times before pushing her to the ground.
In the video, recorded from the shop's desktop computer using a phone, the man purported to be the owner of the shop, roughly pulled and pushed the woman around, dropped her on the shop’s floor and stomped on her.
Despite the woman writhing in pain on the floor, the employer continued slapping and punching her, for reasons yet to be established.
The man further pulled and pushed her around several times before throwing her on the ground. He angrily starts mouthing inaudible words and can be seen indicating with his fingers, as if to count several things.
After a few minutes of the brutal beating, the employer further instructed the woman to carry out some duties, as the lady could be seen rising and heading towards the direction indicated.
“Levina and you are still working in this shop? The person recording the footage questioned someone assumed to be the victim of the assault incident.
The incident, which occurred inside the clothes shop, has sparked an uproar online, with the public calling for the police to investigate the matter and apprehend the man in the video.
In a similar incident on February 6, a policeman attached to the Githiga Police Station in Kiambu County was arrested after assaulting his boss and causing a commotion inside the station.
According to a police report seen by Kenyans.co.ke , the cop, who seemed drunk during the incident, chased away all the civilians inside the station and closed the gate, denying them entry into the station.
The other police officers, at the station, rushed to the scene after the commotion grew wilder by the minute since the situation had gotten out of hand.
Responding to the distress, the officers attempted to contain the situation by pleading with the rogue cop to calm down.
The officers eventually overpowered him and he was later placed in a cell pending arraignment in court.
