Two Maasai tour guides saved buffalos whose horns had become entangled following a fight at one of the reserves in Kenya.

In an undated video making rounds on social media on Friday, the two men in Maasai Shukas carefully cut the ends of the buffalos’  horns, to detach them.

The animals however seemed a little uneasy, which can be attributed to the proximity of the equipment used to cut the horns.

The people who recorded the video, assumed to have been tourists, could be heard exclaiming in awe, as the guides fearfully untangled the two beasts.

According to the owner of the video, the two buffaloes were fighting and the horns ended up being entangled for many hours.

One of the Morans, who looked more courageous and experienced, started cutting through the horns, as the other one stood at a distance giving directions.

As soon as the two got separated, the guides quickly rushed back to the van and proceeded with the game drive tour.

“When these MAA tour guides came across while taking tourists around the park, they decided to help them, despite the risk that came with it,” the video caption read.

In a different incident, residents of Olosirkon near Rongai in Kajiado have raised alarm over a herd of buffalos that has strayed into the residential area, noting that the animals are a threat to school-going children and business people.

“In this area, when it gets to 7:00 pm, it gets very hard to move along this road by foot. These animals come up to the road, and terrorize people, especially small children,” one resident noted.

The herd of about 8 buffalos has allegedly roamed the area for over two weeks, necessitating the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to drive them away from the area, to avoid a repeat of human-animal conflicts.

This comes after Multimedia University students staged a demonstration weeks ago, after a hyena attacked one of the institution’s students, and killed another resident from the Rongai area in Kajiado.
