A police officer attached to the Kamukunji Police Station was swept away by floods on Sunday night while rescuing pedestrians.
According to a police report seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the officer had rescued four people, three women and a child from their business stalls.
The four were trapped between a slab connecting their stalls and the pedestrian walkway. However, after the officer successfully rescued them, he walked back to aid in locking the stalls.

The report also explains that the officer’s rifle (AK47) was also swept away by the floods while it was loaded with ammunition.
“As a result, the officer was swept away by the raging waters together with his rifle AK 47,” the report read.
