A former law student at Moi University has been captured on camera camping at the institution’s gate demanding his missing marks.

According to reports, the student arrived at the university on Thursday, March 28, and refused to leave before having his grades rectified.

The student is accusing a lecturer who has since left the university of withholding his marks.

In the video, the student is seen speaking incoherently using law jargon leading to suspicion he is struggling with mental health issues.

The student who left the institution in 2011 claims the missing marks made him not graduate.

Notably, the former student has braved extreme weather conditions and has reportedly refused to eat until he is cleared for graduation.

The university is yet to release a statement on the incident or acknowledge if the person in question was a student at the School of Law Annex Campus.

Missing marks is one of the high impediments for campus students, especially in public institutions.

In 2016, the government indicated that it would crack down on universities that registered many cases of missing marks.

It was resolved that it was unfair for students to fail to graduate due to mistakes made by lecturers and the university administration.

In October 2023, Multimedia University students paralysed learning activities protesting over missing marks.

Universities majorly attribute missing marks to part-time lecturers who quit before submitting student scores.
