Ababu Explains his Absence from CORD Protests

Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has revealed why he has been conspicuously missing from CORD's anti-IEBC protests for the last one month.

Mr Namwamba announced in Parliament that he had been taking care of his wife Priscilla Namwamba after she gave birth to their third born in April.

“I have been out and about. We got a baby a month ago. So I have been busy on paternity leave,” Ababu said.

The Secretary General stated that it was by chance the protests began while he was away committed to his wife and newborn.

However, he affirmed that he would only do things that he had faith in and not simply because he was attached to a certain party.

In 2015, a section of CORD members accused the legislator of being a jubilee mole, allegations that he vehemently refuted .

CORD has been holding demonstrations for the last one month with the aim to eject IEBC commissioners from office on grounds that they cannot hold free and fair elections in 2017.
