Ahmednassir Sharply Criticizes National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi

Nairobi-based lawyer Ahmednassir Abdulahi has sparked an ugly Twitter fight with National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.

Trouble began after Mr Abdulahi made a controversial post criticising Mr Muturi for the speech he delivered during a meeting with the new IEBC Commissioners on Thursday.

The outspoken lawyer started off by congratulating the Senate Speaker for his address during the same meeting: "Excellent speech by Hon Ekwe Ethuro speaker of the Senator...excellent".

“Hon Justin Muturi...balaaaa...balaaaaa...balaaaaa...[didn't get what he said........really..…],” Abdullahi stated.

The tweet referring to Muturi's speech elicited a couple of comments with a section of netizens expressing a similar opinion over what they termed as 'poor presentation'.

Among them was veteran lawyer Paul Muite who tweeted: “recited a couple of Articles in the Constitution showing little understanding of their correct interpretation & application.”

This seemingly angered the National Assembly speaker who in response to Abdulahi's post vented: “You surely must be a very dumb bandit.”

To add salt to injury, Abdulahi in a rejoinder claimed that Muturi would not be enjoying his current position, were it not for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He accused the Speaker of being overly harsh with his comment, explaining that he just meant the former magistrate was less coherent compared to his Senate counterpart.

“What would have been if HE Uhuru didn't appoint you speaker? Street chokora!!!!... I think speaker Muturi isn't fair to me. I simply said he was incoherent & shallow compared to Senate speaker and CJ,” he stated.
