The wife of a Greece Envoy left residents at a shopping mall in Nyali Estate Mombasa County in shock, after she dived from the fifth floor of the busy shopping centre.
According to eye-witnesses, the 64-year-old woman, Frances Lagoussis, arrived at the scene at around 8.40am and shortly afterwards, plunged down the building losing her life on the spot.
“She was dropped here by her driver around 8.40 am from their residence. After about five minutes, we saw something flying down and land on the pavement with a thud. We rushed to the scene and found the woman’s body with a cracked skull in a pool of blood,” Nairobi News quoted the witness.
The woman had supposedly made two previous attempts to commit suicide from the same building, after complaining about poor performance of her business.
Kisauni OCPD Richard Ngatia, confirmed the incident saying that they would investigate to determine whether the matter was a suicide case.
“We are treating this as a case of suicide but we will investigate further by opening an inquest. Initial information indicates that the woman killed herself after her business started going down.” Mr Ngatia said.
The Diplomat, Panayis Ch. Lagoussis, supposedly refused to discuss the issue asking the media to move away from the scene.
