A United States (US) man is set to vie for Kenya's Presidency in the August 8 General Election.
Amram Musungu, who has a US and a Kenyan citizenship, declared that he would be on the ballot come August as he seeks to dethrone President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Musungu, he was earlier on approached by a group of Kenyan politicians who asked him to be their presidential candidate which he agreed.
“A few months ago, I was approached by a political group in Kenya which has been following up on what I have been doing in the US and they felt that it would be wise for me to fun for the Office of the President to represent a political party in Kenya,” he said while announcing his bid a few weeks ago.
In a recent interview, he maintained that he would be the best President Kenya has ever adding that he wanted the best for the country.
In other interviews, Musungu has insisted that he wished to run for the country's top job in order to “offer better leadership” having been brought up from a humble background.
He has on several occasions insisted that the country requires a leader who will transform the nation while minding the 42 tribes in order to build a stronger Kenya.
The 39-year old who lives in Salt Lake City is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Musungu HIV/AIDS Support Organisation.
He was born and raised in a village in Western Kenya before moving to the US in 1998 where he has been running the Organisation which assists people affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa.
