Nairobi University Student Leader Babu Owino has clinched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nomination ticket for the Embasaki East Parliamentary seat.
Owino garnered 6,093 votes against his closest rival Philip N Bosire who got 1,028 in the just concluded Nairobi primaries held on Sunday.
While receiving his certificate on Sunday night, Owino took the opportunity to thank his supporters indicating that he would serve the will of the people of Embakasi East.
"I 'd like to take this opportunity to thank my team& all my supporters who played a key role in securing our victory tonight.God bless you all," he stated on his twitter handle.
He is now set to face off with the Jubilee party candidate, Francis Mureithi, in the August 8 polls.
Meanwhile, former Nairobi Major, George Aladwa trounced his bitter rival Reuben Ndolo to win the Makadara Consistency Ticket after garnering 5,385 compared to 1,812 votes Ndolo secured.
