Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has now attacked Tiaty MP Asman Kamama demanding that he resigns as the chairman of the National Assembly Security committee for the ongoing security operation in the county to be successful.
Kamama, who is also a senior campaign official in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaign team, has been linked to the ongoing attacks carried out by his Pokot community.
Moi insisted that the claims were enough to force Kamama to resign in order to avoid a situation where he is seen to be interfering in the security exercise.
At the same time, the KANU Chairman denied reports that he was opposed to the security exercise that was launched by Deputy President William Ruto.
He added that while he was in support of the operation, he did not see Ruto’s role in helping the situation.
"It seems the government is doing a public relations exercise on the much-hyped operation because we are yet to hear of any arrests one week after the exercise commenced.
"I had in the past contributed money to facilitate the purchase of a new security chopper for surveillance in Baringo only to be curtailed by the same leaders and professionals who are throwing stones at me now," the senator claimed.
