Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has emphasised that he is not going to drop out of the race to defend his current Governor seat.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV Thursday evening, the Governor clarified that he would not drop his political ambitions because of the Deputy Premier Cabinet Secretary position he had been promised if the National Super Alliance (NASA) wins the August polls.
"The Deputy Premier Cabinet Secretary in NASA was issued to Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) and not me as an individual, therefore CCM has the right to recommend names to fill the position in a NASA government.
"For now I am strongly in the race to defend my Bomet Governorship," Ruto stated.
The NASA principal was reacting to claims that he would not be running for the Bomet governorship in favour of the position offered in NASA.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen had earlier stated that Jubilee Party Bomet Gubernatorial aspirant Joyce Laboso should be elected unopposed since Ruto had been promised a Cabinet Secretary job.

Murkomen also took a swipe at the NASA line-up stating that the country had a new Constitution and that the positions in NASA were not provided for in the law.
NASA hopes to govern using draft Constitution forgetting that we have a living Constitution of Kenya 2010.

On Thursday, NASA unveiled its team that would see ODM Party leader Raila Odinga become flag bearer with Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate.
Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi would be Premier Cabinet Secretary, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula the Deputy Premier in charge of the public sector and Ruto would be Deputy Premier in charge of Social services.
