Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto Speaks of His Troubles with Jubilee and Why He Flew to South Africa for Treatment

After falling out with Deputy President (DP) William Ruto, Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto accused state agencies of subjecting him to what he called harassment and intimidation.

The most memorable is when he was caught up in chaos and roughed up by police during a football match in his county.

The Governor has now explained why after the incident, he was hurriedly flown to South Africa to seek medical attention which earned him a share of ridicule, especially on social media.

He admitted that he first sought help in Bomet Hospital and Nairobi Hospital but was referred for more specialised treatment.

In an interview with a local daily, Ruto stated that the treatment was only available in India, United States of America, United Kingdom and South Africa.

Being the nearest, Ruto opted to head to South Africa.

At the same time, he explained why he decided to join the National Super Alliance, which many thought was political suicide.

Ruto, who has been critical of the government, revealed that he got fed up with the abuses of the Jubilee leaders thus opted to align himself with the Opposition.
