Bomet Senator Wilfred Rotich Involved in Road Accident

Bomet Senator Wilfred Rotich was on Thursday evening involved in a nasty road accident along the Narok-Mai Mahiu road.

The Senator is said to have been travelling from Nairobi to Bomet when his Landcruiser collided head on with a private car.

The accident is said to have been caused by the saloon car which was trying to overtake another vehicle when the driver lost control and rammed into the Senator's car.

Rotich, who was travelling alongside his driver and personal assistant, escaped unhurt but were rushed to Nairobi Hospital for a check-up.

According to the Senator, he was heading to his home area where he was to preside over various events ahead of the Christmas festivities.

“We thank God that there were no injuries and we are going on with our planned Christmas in the County and no one should be worried since we are okay,” he assured.

After a medical review, they were declared fit to continue with their journey but had to postpone some events which they were to attend on the ill-fated day.

The two vehicles were towed to Narok Police Station where the senator recorded a statement as the authorities began investigations into the incident.
