Businessman Kills Son After Losing Car

A businessman in Embu County killed his son on Tuesday morning, after informing the police that he had lost his car and Sh90,000 to fraudsters.

Mr Robert Mukuria, who is in early 30’s, committed the act by slaying his 6-year-old son and then attempted to poison himself to death.

According to Embu West OCPD Francis Sang’, before killing his son and attempting suicide, Mr Mukuria and his wife Jackline Kagendo had engaged in a fight over the issue at the woman's place of work in Dallas area.

After the domestic scuffle, the businessman is said to have taken their son from the woman's work place and went with him home.

The OCPD added, that Ms Kagendo did not spend the night in the house after the disagreement, but went to the police station the following morning to report that she feared for her life and that of her son.

Ms Kagendo was then accompanied by the police to her home at Bonanza Estate, only to find her son dead while the husband lay unconcious on the floor.

The man was rushed to Embu Level Five Hospital, where he was admitted alongside his wife who also collapsed at the scene of crime.

The 6-year-old's body was moved into the mortuary at the same hospital.
