A Cameroonian was arraigned at a Nairobi court on Thursday for allegedly stealing over Sh 240 million shillings from the East African Breweries Limited.
According to The Star, the defendant, Aristide Nkoumondo was a senior employee at the company.
He is said to have stolen the money on April 6, July 6, July 18 and October 18 all in the year 2011.
Citizen Tv reports that he stole the money when he served in the company as a procurement director.
Investigators handling the matter claim that Nkoumondo colluded with other persons to commit the crime, The Business Daily reports
The charge sheets do not however specify whether other employees were involved.
Nkoumondo pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a Sh3 million bond with surety of the same amount.
An argument from the Director of Public Prosecutions that he is a flight risk prompted Senior principal magistrate Grace Mumasi to order him to deposit his passport with the court.
His case will be heard on August 4th 2015.
