Chaotic ODM Migori Rally Claims Another Casualty

New details have emerged following the chaotic Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) political rally graced by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho in Migori yesterday.

Governor Joho released a statement on the matter outlining that his bodyguard had been shot in what appeared to be an assassination attempt.

New revelations now show that another young man was also shot and injured during the confrontations.

The young man had approached the VIP podium to interact with Governor Joho and other dignitaries and was in the process of taking a selfie with the governor when a bullet ripped through the seat he was sitting on.

Confirming the incident, Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Nassir, reiterated that the supporter had taken a bullet for the Governor and Joho had narrowly escaped death.

Nassir, who also travelled in Governor Joho's car when bullets were sprayed into the vehicle, also confirmed the Governor's suspicions of foul play.

"This was an assassination attempt. They were after Joho. Our car was shot at three times," a shaken up Nassir claimed.

The governor had revealed in a statement that he along with his delegation had reason to believe that the attack was an assassination attempt executed by trained security officers in plain clothes.

The ODM Deputy Party Leader's statement further alleged that the aggression was an escalation of the verbal political attacks he has experienced over the past few weeks and called on authorities to curtail it before it spins out of hand.
