Chief Fired for Embarrassing Uhuru

A Government administrator who was caught in camera drunk, while dressed in official uniform has been kicked out of office.

Nakuru Assistant Chief Joseph Rotich was sacked on Wednesday, a day after a video showing him intoxicated went viral of social media.

Confirming the dismissal, Rift Valley regional coordinator Mr Wanyama Musiambo said the assistant Chief will be charged in court with abetting sale of illicit brews.

“The assistant Chief has been dismissed from service with immediate effect. He is a disgrace and has betrayed the government which is determined to end sale and consumption of illicit liqour,”said Mr Musiambo.

The Government sent the Mawingu sub-location assistant Chief packing citing that he was undermining the war on illegal alcohol, directed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the video that has cost the Chief his job, Mr Rotich who is apparently in a drunken stupor, goes ahead to excite his audience which is busy recording the rare spectacle.

A resident questions him on the crackdown that has been ongoing regarding illegal brews, but Rotich expresses that he doesn't care about it.

“I know about Uhuru Kenyatta's order but I as Joseph must drink. I don't care about that order,” he is heard saying in a slurry voice.

The wasted administrator is seen posing comfortably for the 'moment of fame' and even asks an officer whether she is satisfied with the filmed shot.

Mr Rotich staged the 'circus' on a day when President Kenyatta was scheduled to tour the area.
