Clinical Officer Accused Of Raping Minor

A family in Mombasa County is seeking justice for their minor daughter who was allegedly defiled by a clinical officer.

Henry Mwangue Jimbi is accused of sexually assaulting the underage girl when she had gone for medical check up at a clinic in Bamburi.

The incident happened on May 6 when the girl had gone to the hospital seeking treatment for asthma attacks.

The Standard reports that Jimbi ordered her to remove her clothes and proceeded to forcefully take her virginity.

The girl's mother says that despite reporting the case to police officers, no action has been taken against Jimbi, who works at the Coast General Hospital.

The family reported the defilement at Kiembeni Police Station, producing a P3 form and post-rape care form showing the girl had indeed been raped.

Her family says the damning evidence should have been enough for police to begin investigations and arrest the officer but the man still walks free.

In a desperate attempt to get justice, the victim's family lawyer has commenced a private prosecution.

Mombasa Senior Principal Magistrate Richard Odenyo allowed the private prosecution to go on, asking the lawyer to serve the suspect the court papers.
