Majoriy leader in the Laikipia County Assembly, Ephraim Wachira, was on Saturday pronounced dead moments after delivering his Jamhuri Day speech.
Mr Wachira collapsed at the Nanyuki Stadium after making his address, leaving county residents in anxiety.
The MCA was reportedly taken to the Nanyuki Cottage Hospital where he was declared dead.
County Assembly Speaker Patrick Mariru confirmed the loss of their colleague, saying they were yet to make a formal announcement, Nation reports.
Last week, another leader from Narok county collapsed while giving her remarks at the Maasai Mara University graduation ceremony.
Deputy Governor Evelyn Aruasa, however, survived the incident as it was later confirmed by the her boss that she had regained stability while in hospital.
