Dandora MCA Stephen Kambi Charged with 8 Counts of Robbery with Violence, Rape and Stealing Firearms

Dandora Member of County Assembly Stephen Kambi was arraigned in court on Tuesday and charged with eight counts of robbery with violence, rape and stealing firearms.

Mr Kambi, however, denied the charges after which he was granted Sh1 Million bail.

Kambi and five other people allegedly stole two guns from the Buruburu Police Station.

He was accused of using the two guns to conduct robbery mainly in Kariobangi, Saika and Molewm areas in Nairobi County.

The gunmen attacked a couple that was heading home in the wee hours of the night and raped the woman.

One gun was recovered before the six suspects were arrested and remanded in Pangani Police Station by Chief Magistrate Electa Liyiani.

If found guilty, the lawmaker could be jailed for life, as robbery with violence is classified as a capital offence.
