Dennis Itumbi Tears Down Larry Madowo in Twitter War

Following the alleged sacking of Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) directors then their reinstatement, NTV journalist Larry Madowo was quick to comment on the happenings at State House.

On his twitter handle, an outspoken Madowo mockingly indicated that the embarrassing firing and rehiring of the directors had allowed them to know who was in-charge at the President's office.

"PSCU directors were allowed back into their jobs after a dressing down. Sources say they now know who's boss. No more personal statements," Madowo tweeted.

The news anchor also mentioned that the directors would not be making appearances on television interviews to speak for the Presidency.

"The PR of this statement aside, you won't see PSCU directors on talk shows regularly speaking for the Presidency," he added.

His sentiments came after a statement by State House Deputy Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita clarified that the President's communication team was still intact and would continue keeping the public informed of the Head of State's development agenda.

Madowo's remarks, however, were not taken kindly by the Diaspora and Digital Communications Director in the President's Office Dennis Itumbi who criticised the Trend host for making 'baseless' comments on the issue.

Itumbi rubbished Madowo's comments noting that his facts were badly skewed adding that he was just spreading rumours.

"Dressed down? Back from where? You know Larry Madowo facts are important but then again maybe not on the Trend," Itumbi told off Madowo

"Larry Madowo statement of Facts. The question here should be fact checking by media," the PSCU director stated.

The incident comes days after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria put Madowo on the spot for inaccurately saying that he had four pending cases in court during a television interview.
