Details of Jubilee's Kasarani Meeting on Voter Recruitment Strategy

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to meet over 16,000 Jubilee party aspirants and political leaders for a strategy meeting to be held at the Kasarani Gymnasium on Friday.

The meeting, which will be held just two days after a similar convergence by the Opposition, is expected to lay the groundwork for the registration of voters in Jubilee strongholds.

“We have invited all aspirants running for Governorship, Senate, National Assembly, county women representative and county assemblies,”  Jubilee Party Secretariat head Raphael Tuju revealed.

Tuju added that only the 16,000 party members who have expressed interest in contesting for various positions would be allowed at the venue and that they must show proof of payment.

“We are discouraging jokers from attending the meeting. We only want genuine aspirants to attend,” the party official advised.

Jubilee will also become the first political party in Kenya to have a mass membership drive that is technology-driven.

The digital recruitment drive will be launched by President Kenyatta on Friday and later coordinated by interim officials with the support of the party's aspirants.

On Wednesday, Opposition leaders including Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, and Nick Salat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), vowing to work together to defeat Jubilee in 2017.
