EACC to Create New Guidelines to Fight Corruption in both Public and Private Sector - Wabukala Announces

New EACC boss Eliud Wabukala has announced that the commission is creating guidelines for fighting graft in both private and public sectors.

Speaking on Thursday morning, Wabukala stated that the fight against corruption had been concentrated on public offices yet the private sector was part of the problem.

"We must look at this carefully because in a bribery case, there is a giver and a taker," the EACC boss said.

Wabukala, who was speaking at the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), noted that they would change the strategy in a bid to end the corruption that has bedevilled the country for a long time.

His sentiments were echoed by KAM head Flora Mutahi, who stated that they would partner with the anti-graft agency to ensure those who participate in corruption were held accountable.

The position of EACC chairman fell vacant following the resignation of former anti-corruption boss Philip Kinisu on August 31.

Kinisu left office amid pressure after a company linked to him was mentioned to have received Sh35 Million in the infamous NYS scandal.
