Ethiopian Soldiers Take Over Kenyan Police Station

50 heavily armed Ethiopian soldiers and police officers are said to have crossed the Kenyan border and taken over a police staion.

Armed with AK47 rifles the Ethiopians who arrived in 10 vehicles are said to have taken strategic positions around the Illeret police station.

The officers are further alleged to have inspected the area and taken photos of the area which is 16 Kilometres from the border.

According to the Ethiopian officers who admit the Kenyan government was not aware of their presence, they had gone to inspect the border and a lake.

According to a report shared on twitter, Kenya Defence Forces spokesman Colonel David Obonyo has said they are not aware of the incident.

This is said to be the third time the Ethiopian forces have crossed into Kenya this year.
