Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has cracked the whip on the singer of the controversial Yesu Nipe Nyonyo song.
Speaking to journalists, Mr Mutua termed the song as blasphemous and demeaning to God adding that it portrayed a lack of creativity in the singer who is known as SBJ.
“I think our artistes need to be creative kuna ujinga imetokea naona inacirculate kwa video inasema ati Yesu nipe nyonyo.
"Some of the things that are happening is because people have realised that unless you are controversial or you are saying obscene things or crazy things your content will never be shown anywhere and they are doing it for purpose of circulation” Mutua pointed out.
The KFCB boss strongly condemned the song stating that it was under investigation by the board.
"So if you compose a song like this one which in essence is blasphemous or you venture into the area where you want to defame or blaspheme religion or religious deity in order to get circulation that cannot be right," Mutua stated.
Yesu nipe nyonyo gained a lot of public attention when the video was released though the song was produced a few years back.
However, the artiste defended his song noting that it is drawn from God's word in 1 Peter 2:2 - "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it, you may grow up in your salvation".
