A middle-aged man has been arrested in Akobwait village, Busia County after he was accused of killing his own daughter.
42-year old Cleophas Emodo is alleged to have beaten up his daughter after he caught her having sex inside a bathroom at his home.
During the Tuesday night incident, the suspect is said to have noticed some commotion emanating from the bathroom when he decided to check what was happening.
On reaching the room, Emodo was perplexed on discovering that the girl was engaging in sexual activities with her boyfriend.
The purported boyfriend managed to escape from the hands of the suspect who is reported to have directed his anger towards the daughter, beating her ruthlessly.
The girl was later rushed to Amukura Mission Health Centre but was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival.
Confirming the incident, area OCPD Paul Odede said the suspect was later arrested and is currently being detained at Adungosi Police Station.
