Ferdinand Waititu and Alice Ng'ang'a in Trouble after Constructing road in 'Invaded' Land

Kabete Member of Parliament(MP) Ferdinand Waititu, her Thika counterpart Alice Ng'ang'a and Bishop David Ngari alias Gakuyo are in trouble after two Thika business threatened to sue them for alleged trespass and destruction of property valued at approximately Sh120 Million.

According to Michael Njiiri Kariuki and Duncan Macharia, the politicians invaded their land and constructed a public road without prior notice or their consent.

"Waititu took over the road construction works on May 9 together with the Thika MP and Rev Gakuyo. They invaded the area and started constructing a road with an aim of solving traffic congestion in Thika town", Njiiri said.

Mr Njiiri accused the leaders of outright impunity for 'invading' his land and explained that he would have filed the suit on Thursday last week but was unable since the magistrate was out.

“I went to the law courts with my lawyer but we couldn’t file a suit since the environment and lands magistrate was away on leave,” Njiiri stated.

Mr Macharia on his part reported the matter to Thika police station which was recorded under OB NO 52/10/5/2017 and stated that he would press more charges against the trio including; trespass, destruction of properties and excavating his land without his consent.

“They are claiming that the road is just a short term solution to the traffic congestion. But even if it is they should have followed the right procedure instead of invading other people’s land. Actually, there is an alternative road reserve that they could have used,” Macharia stated.

Macharia also alluded to the fact that the three were not just interested in the road but were after his parcel of land which is in a prime location valued at Sh120 million.

“I think they have a hidden agenda in this matter. They are using force and yet they haven’t taken over the county leadership,’ he mentioned.
