Ford Kenya Nairobi Chairman Lupesia Komesa Kidnapped in Thika

A Ford-Kenya leader over the weekend claimed that he was kidnapped and tortured in Nairobi for what he termed as opposing party leader Moses Wetangula.

Lupesia Komesa, who is the Party's Nairobi Chairman, said that he was accosted by a group of youth in Thika and bundled into a get-away vehicle after which he was beaten.

On Saturday, Ford Kenya held a delegates conference at Bomas of Kenya while a rival faction seeking to dethrone Wetangula as party leader held its meeting in Thika.

Komesa, who was attending the Thika event, claimed that he met his abductors outside Birmingham Hotel just minutes after arriving.

He added that in the vehicle, he found a Nairobi Member of Parliament (MP) who threatened him against opposing the CORD co-principal.

“As I was about to get into the meeting, I was abducted by youth and forced into a car where I found the MP and other people. They warned me to cooperate with them or they would kill me,” asserted Lupesia.

The Nairobi branch chairman stated that he was tortured with his private parts being squeezed before he was rescued by police officers at Bomas.

“I was kept in the car for long hours and even pleaded with the abductors to give me water but they refused. I even told them that Jesus while on the cross asked for water but they told me that the case of Jesus was different from mine and that I should carry my own cross,” he added.

He was taken to Lang'ata Police Station where he recorded a statement and was later rushed to Langata Women's Hospital for treatment.
