Former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo Ditches Jubilee for ODM

Former TNA Secretary-General Onyango Oloo has left President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) led by Raila Odinga.

Mr Oloo divulged that he was still holding talks with the Orange party, as well with Mr Odinga, but declined to reveal the main reason why he shifted from Uhuru's party.

"We have had a series of consultative meetings. Soon, we shall make a formal announcement," the former Secretary-General stated.

In what would be a major blow to the President's camp, Oloo disclosed that he will be shifting to ODM with other Jubilee leaders who he declined to name.

The former TNA Secretary-General played a crucial role in campaigning for President Kenyatta before he was elected in 2013.

After the Jubilee merger in Kasarani, Oloo was not given any active role in the Secretariat, which controls the party's events and is headed by former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju.

A section of Jubilee leaders from Nyanza region, led by interim Kisumu county coordinator Juma Midigo, had urged Kenyatta to give Oloo an influential position but their pleas fell on deaf ears.

“We demand to know from the President what Oloo did wrong that led to his exclusion from the vital committee, which he was part of at the last election,” Mr Midigo posed.

Since TNA was dissolved, Mr Oloo has not been active or participating in any major Jubilee events.
